FINGAL HEAD LIGHTHOUSE
Since 1872
Here’s The Deal:
Fingal Head Lighthouse is an operational lighthouse in Fingal Head, New South Wales, Australia, established on February 19, 1872. It is a wooden pole structure, approximately 30 feet tall, housing a fixed kerosene wick burner. Crowned with an overhanging bluestone platform, positioned 12 feet above ground level, it is supported by shaped corbels. James Barnet is the designer behind this structure, featuring a circular column made from bricks and cement rendering on the exterior. Access to the light is available via the road just south of the Tweed River from the Pacific Highway, with parking available. Adjacent to the lighthouse's north side lies a public beach and picnic area for visitors to enjoy.
