When we first had John Ansell Photography do photographic portraits for us many years ago I was immediately taken by the good humour and professionalism which seems to come naturally to this family business. Now years later, I was reflecting on the many projects over the years in which I have had the pleasure of participating. When the opportunity of a photo session or project is mooted, I always find myself looking forward to the task. Despite the sometimes gruelling jobs with which we were involved, this family business at all times proceeds with a great banter that keeps everybody smiling and having fun. I think the high quality of their output is a direct result of their “straight man and comic” style during a photo session coupled with their “two heads are better than one” approach in the workshop. A truly effective partnership that is reflected in the quality of their work.

I signed up for a First Lap Around the Sun package for my first born as I felt it was important to document these special moments. Not only did I get a free maternity shoot but I now have the most amazing and beautiful photos to look back on of my sweet baby girl! I am not one to take photos of myself of even have my photo taken but Mikaela made me and husband feel so comfortable and at ease. The professionalism and dedication from Mikaela is incredible, she very clearly loves what she does and wants you to have the most memories from her photos. I would absolutely book photos with Mikaela again and recommend her to others

Our experience was lovely. There’s a beautiful welcoming studio, great payment options and a lovely atmosphere. Michaela was so sweet, and she listened to our wants that brought no pressure to the experience and left us with an amazing outcome, and really good quality portraits that were stored in a keepsake box for us to treasure. Loved the vibe, definitely recommend her, and returning in the future!

Mikaela made the whole experience so enjoyable. Mikaela was so supportive and helpful prior to and during shoots, with giving advice on what to wear, being patient with our toddler and also providing after shoot care as well.
