“Reverend A. D. Soares designed St. John's Anglican, completed in 1871. Saint Johns is the first church erected on the banks of the Darling River and is one of the most significant features in Wentworth. Heritage recorded by the National Trust. The historical building's construction was finished with the help of local individuals who generously contributed financially. St. John's Anglican Church building was managed by Reverend William Cocks, and after a while, the church started celebrating masses. In the initial steps, the church faced only hundreds of attendees for the prayer, but as the population increased, the church was outgrown and needed expansion.”
