Lock 11 Mildura Weir was constructed in August 1923. Situated around 800 meters upstream is the Mildura Wharf, an essential hub for river transport since the 1800s. The Weir aims to elevate the water level and increase pressure for the Mildura and Red Cliffs irrigation pumps. Comprising 24 steel trestles weighing roughly 11 tonnes, the Weir has a storage capacity of 36,200 megalitres in its pool. Four butterfly valves upstream are opened to fill the lock, allowing water to enter the locked room through two tunnels with a capacity of approximately 4.5 megalitres. During daytime, visitors are encouraged to explore the island between the lock and the Weir. This 15-hectare island hosts a variety of native species, providing them with a natural sanctuary.

LOCK 11 MILDURA WEIR REVIEWS
Well worth a visit. It is popular with children and affords the usual very pretty views of the Murray River. Suggest you cross over the weir and walk around the parking area. Great place to sit and watch the Paddle Steamers go through the Lock11.
Visited this lock on board a paddle boat and as a pedestrian - both experiences were great but on foot was really cool. The lock is really interesting and offers an insight to local history of the lock as well as something different to check out. Lock island is a cool walk around also.

RAAF MEMORIAL AND MUSEUM REVIEWS
A step back in time into what it was like during WWII. The RAAF huts are as they were in the 1940's. You may even find records of a past relation that was stationed here. We did. An ex-PM was stationed and learned to fly here. Please make sure that you allocate at least 2 hours to appreciate what is on display. To the volunteers, thank you for assisting to retain this history.
Great place hea ps of history the displays in this building were well presented and the volunteers were very friendly and helpful. They have toilets available here as well.
