“Queanbeyan Railway Station is a heritage-listed railway station that was opened on 8 September 1887, when the Bombala line was extended from Bungendore. The station was later added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register. The Queanbeyan Railway Station building was officially opened in September 1887, and the station master's residence and the gatekeeper's residence were likely completed in the same year.

2025 Update: In Queanbeyan Railway Station, the station location chosen was in the Oaks Paddock, two kilometres from the centre of town. They choose to avoid the requirement to demolish the cemetery and hospital.”

“Queanbeyan Showground is the perfect venue for events of all sizes. The property is owned by the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council and has been listed on the New South Wales State Heritage Register. The town of Queanbeyan developed on land once owned by innkeeper Timothy Beard, who had a cluster of huts along the banks of the Molonglo River. Archaeological evidence and historical records indicate that the Queanbeyan Showground site was a significant gathering and burial site for Aboriginal people.

2025 Update: The Queanbeyan Showground site serves both as a traditional camping area and a place of historical significance for Aboriginal people.”

QUEANBEYAN LIBRARY REVIEWS

The library is clean, neat and easy to navigate. We've only attended the music program for kids that is offered on Wednesdays but it was lovely and well run. Looking forward to trying all the others. Every staff we've encountered have been friendly, kind and helpful - this really is the heart of the library that makes it such a positive experience each time. Thank you!

Very helpful librarians and a fantastic range of books the ones that you can hold onto in your hands and turn the pages!!! Also audiobooks a very wide range. DVDs and a toy library. Computer and the Internet. NBN. Magazines and other reading titles. Newspapers. Photocopying. Check their website and page for special events and activities for children and adults. The meeting room is for hire. Keep a look out of what is happening at the library.

A clean and quiet library with free wifi, kind and helpful staff, and a pleasant atmosphere. A lovely place.

Me catch the train to China town in the sydney for new year. Good station and train very spacious and comfortble. The recomend the service to the others.

Historical station. Could only sit there and think about the hard work of the people who have built the station.

A wonderful historic station maintained and still servicing NSW rail travellers.

Loved the swap meet & recommend going to anyone thinking about it Also attended the "ACT holden day" today which was awesome!

Went to a car show. The showground has had a lot of upgrades done. It was really well organised with food stalls and coffee vans. Restrooms are plenty and clean. Parking is available in the grounds and on the street.

A show ground with old roots, this is a multi purpose community facility connecting to Its rural surrounds. It is a dog off lead area during the week I believe and an underutilised green space in off peak times. Park at The Q.
