“Nielson Park is a stunning 500-metre-long stretch of sand, bordered by basalt rock flats on either end. The large park has a long stretch of picnic areas and swimming areas. Nielson Park has a large mix of sandy beaches, natural waterfront areas, open fields, outdoor gym equipment, shady trails, and recreational parkland. Nielson Park has many beautiful facilities for individuals and families who want to spend time outdoors. The park is ideally suited to daytrippers and visitors in the caravan park. “Buss Park borders the Anglican Christ Church and the Bundaberg Regional Council offices and contains several memorials. The park is a great place to rest and relax after having lunch at one of the numerous cafes and restaurants. The park's centrepiece of the landscaped gardens is the granite cenotaph to pioneer aviator Bert Hinkler. Buss Park has outdoor play equipment, a children's play station, and other equipment. The park has lots of benches for sitting and may contain picnic tables. At Buss Park, visitors can enjoy the scenery and beautiful trails. The park has wheelchair access and restrooms.”

NIELSON PARK REVIEWS

Stunning spot. Was very 'alive' - people using basketball courts, picnicking, playground busy, lots of leashed dog walks, and families, with a beautiful tropical coast aesthetic. Interesting volcanic rock (I think) along coast, fun to explore. Huge, ranging park with something for most people.

Stunning, peaceful, walk as far as you like or stop and take in the view. Great for walking, scooters, biking, nice and flat easy stroll. Parks for the little ones to enjoy.

Enjoyed an active afternoon with 10 year old grandson. Excellent pathways, sports venues, beach etc. Parking good on week day.

BUSS PARK REVIEWS

Green, flowery relaxing space in Bundaberg. On Sunday the peel of church bells rings out over the park. Tis a wonderful place to rest after walking through Bundaberg. It's also named after Frederick Buss, one of the owners of several sugar plantations around Bundaberg. He was also an initiator and early director of the Bundaberg distillery.

This park is always beautiful kept neat. Plenty of seating area. This park is mainly a relax area. Christmas time they always put on a spectacular light setup through the park.

Great park, very nicely gardened. i was here for the Anzac service and the garden beds were changed to red flowers. it looked lovely.

LAKE ELLEN PLAYGROUND REVIEWS

In my top 3 parks of Bundaberg, really open area, nice walking path (decent length as well), playground has various different options including ramps for bikes/scooters/skateboards (also suitable for kids as bigger ones aren’t normally here due to the family nature of the park) Has a wheelchair accessible swing (unsure of any others) Restrooms and dog friendly

Well presented park with so many play and activity areas. All abilities park FOR all ages sizes and capabilities. Plenty of parking available Shared bbqs and covered areas with plenty of seating and space. Often a wonderful way to have a birthday party or a celebration. Lots to keep the family busy. Also a wonderful ara of bird life and a lake nearby so turtles and sometimes boat being used on the the water.

Eight different playing areas including a maze, train + train station slide set, driving course, excellent swing collection with 5 swings, as well as a large undercover seating area (8 tables) and two well maintained public toilets. Highly recommend - our 3 year old was highly entertained
