We had the pleasure of working with Colleen Hughson who captured who we are and what we do at Koroit and District Primary school in just 3 minutes of footage. Colleen took the time to understand our school context through conversations and observations, then engaged a group of grade 6 students to support the film making process. Colleen spent the day with us to gather quality footage of students engaged in their learning, break times and students sharing their experiences at KDPS. We were amazed with the outcome, in fact it exceeded our expectations! We are really looking forward to working with Colleen on an annual cycle to ensure our promotional clip is updated for prospective and current families. This was more than a promotional movie, Colleen created a celebration of who we are and what we do at KDPS and for that we are truly grateful.

Communicating to parents and the wider community is something that all schools work very hard to achieve, especially to a level where parents can easily articulate what is happening in the day to day running of the school. Involving First Ladies in developing the narrative of Warrnambool Primary and to help us tell the story of our new Strategic Plan has helped us enormously in making that become a reality. Colleen’s work exceeded our expectations. She has a knack of accurately depicting our values and bringing out the best in our students. Her work certainly speaks for itself.

When my small marine interpretation business was asked to do a video on intertidal ‘rock pool rambles’, I asked Colleen Hughson to help. We had a very short time frame, no suitable low tides, the weather was wet and windy and I was on crutches! Somehow with Colleen’s expertise we managed to pull it all together. What she achieved, and on time, was amazing. A professional, educational and entertaining video, which was shown as part of Coastcare’s online, Summer by the Sea program 2021. This video was viewed by hundreds and received wide acclaim. I highly recommend First Ladies Videos and without doubt would use them again.
