This place is a diamond in the rough! I came in on a lazy Thursday evening, and was absolutely blown away with the food and service. The staff were extremely attentive, kind, funny and generous. I had the Duck as a main, and it was arguably the best I had experienced. Will absolutely return, with the whole family. Thank you empire, for a lovely evening.

What can I say,a romantic dinner or lunch a special occasion dinner and family at night a very special resteraunt for my God great food class 1.Service spot on the best lunch,and left you feeling very special,a true local in Geelong. Booking a must! The rib eye a must and the Empire Grill special coffee is a crowd pleaser and must,pineapple pork belly in a pineapple chutney mmmm!!Yum Enjoy if you do make a booking.

The place is super nice!! The food and vibes are amazing! We had fried polenta and fried chicken (sooo nice, perfect crunchiness and not oily at all, full of flavour), then we had buttata and pesto gnocchi with beef cheek. For dessert golden syrup donut, amaretto ice cream and honeycomb….to dye for!!! Absolutely coming back when in Geelong!! Oh and don’t forget to pop upstairs for some great vibes.

I absolutely love Recess! The food is always outstanding and the entertainment is brilliant. I've been to a few drag nights here and loved every second of it! The only downside is sometimes it took over half an hour for our drinks to arrive since it was so busy, but otherwise it's a brilliant place for a fun evening of drag and good food.

The atmosphere at the drag brunch was fantastic, providing great entertainment and fun games. The attentive bar staff ensured we had a great time, and the food was delicious. I'm already looking forward to going back.

So nice to go to a professional venue for once. 5 star all the way. Steaks were immaculate, starters perfect, dessert delectable. Never asked for water once, the servers were there. Prompt delivery of the highest quality. My wife and I don't drink anymore, but the wine list was good. Cannot recommend enough. We sat at the window, it was awesome.

Emerge is my go-to place in Geelong for modern Australian cuisine. The quality of food is excellent and very consistent throughout the years. Every dish is cook perfectly and the flavour is just soooo good. The scallops are my favourite today.

My husband and I dined in to celebrate our anniversary, the steak was delicious, perfectly cooked. We had a great wine with it, a asked for a decanter if they had any and to my surprise, they did which made our experience even better, the dessert was delicious too, highly recommended.
