3 Best Australian Restaurants in Maitland NSW

Visited The Whistler Maitland whilst in the area on Saturday afternoon. Opening hours made it convenient for a late lunch / early dinner as we arrived just shy of 5pm. We tried the pork bites as a starter and had the beef and chicken burgers which were both delicious. Prices were fairly reasonable. Burgers around $22-$23 and the pork bites for around $20. Plenty of options to choose from on the menu also. Service was friendly, atmosphere was relaxed and the venue was clean and well presented. Plenty of street parking available from right in front to a short walk away.

Thank you for the awesome service and delicious food. Really enjoyed it here. The pork belly bites were so nice and crispy. Didn’t get a pic unfortunately they were too delicious lol but all the other food we had was perfect. The bathrooms and overall restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Great food, friendly staff and a great variety of beers on tap (a few stouts for good measure too!). It's a hard choice between the breakfast and lunch menu given the amount of yummy items on both. The burgers are always a winner. The Whistler has a nice atmosphere, great for groups.

A fabulous Friday lunch place. Saw its great Google ratings and loved the pics of the lounges, bar etc. and had to check it out. I had the crab scrambled eggs from the all day breakfast menu with a glass of local Prosecco. Hubby had the fish and chips special made from flathead with a Schooner of Newtowner for $20. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed the meals, clearing the plates. It was plenty of food for good size adults. The staff were pleasant and efficient. Would happily go back!

First time here, and we'll definitely be back! The share menu was perfect as we didn't know what to choose. The meals came out slowly so we didn't fill up too quickly, and the waitstaff were discreet in keeping our drinks topped up. The iced vovo - WOW!!

It is a great spot with delicious food and friendly staff, and it's a bonus that it's pet-friendly! However, there is quite a few mosquitoes in the outdoor dining area, which made it a bit less enjoyable. Overall, still a nice place to visit!

Would have to be my best dining and food experience in Australia to date. We’ve just moved to the area 7 months ago and this hidden gem is definitely worth a visit. Food is very high quality and full of flavour. We will definitely be back. Small menu but full of variety. I want to go back and try everything! The fire place makes the place nice and cozy. The outdoor area was absolutely beautiful.

Once again the food was delicious and presented beautifully! The service is always good and the food is brought out well spaced between courses. The price for 2 or 3 courses is very reasonable especially considering the high quality of the food! Duke’s is one of our go to places for a special night out! Thanks for a lovely dining experience!

Probably the best 3 course meal I have ever had. The food, the service, the vibe was unreal. We went out with two couples and our children, 5:30pm sitting. The garden outside is stunning and lit with festoon lights, inside there was an open fire. Wow! We will be back.
