“St Patrick's Cathedral provides the initiation of children into the sacramental life. The church is designed by the local architects Shaw and Dowden. Their mission is to serve the local Catholic community. The church is a Roman Catholic cathedral church. The Altar is made from Carrara marble. St Patrick's Cathedral laid the foundation stone for the church in 1858 and commenced a regular basis for Mass in 1863. The church parish acknowledges that the Aboriginal people of Australia are their First Nation peoples and the traditional owners and custodians of this land. St Patrick's Cathedral's design is based on a design by English architect Charles Hansom.

2025 Update: The church was listed on the Victorian Heritage Register in 1994.”

St. Patrick's Cathedral in Ballarat Central is a stunning architectural gem, offering a serene and historic atmosphere for visitors to experience. Definitely a place of praise and worship for all churchgoer.

We enjoyed a fabulous Candlelight Concert from the very talented string quartet, entertaining us with the music of Queen. Brilliant.

Brilliant work by all of the artists, a joy to experience such talent. The candles were lovely, just mostly on one level on the stage which was a bit high to give the right atsmophere. Very well run.

Pastor Michael and the team made us feel welcome from the first minute. Feels like home. Can't explain the sense of peace and belonging, it's truly amazing. Thank God for Ballarat Enjoy Church and the lovely people who have accepted us into their family.

A friendly welcoming church with a solid foundation on the Word of God. When I first walked through the doors I felt like I was at home. Also has Kids Church, Empire Youth and Mainly Music Program for pre-schoolers.

Vibrant, warm, friendly church that caters for all ages. Positive atmosphere and words filled with life and hope. You will not regret visiting Enjoy church Ballarat!

Best Church ever! A place of life and hope. In this church I have made the best friendships and never been so close to God! My kids love it. The Preaching is powerful and true to the word of God. Lovely friendly people child friendly amazing entertainment from the youth very welcoming happy people extremely helpful with advice and prayer.

Great place of worship, super friendly people and great services. Plus the kid friendliness is second to none.

The people are so friendly here, and they make some good coffee.
