“St Patrick's Cathedral provides the initiation of children into the sacramental life. The church is designed by the local architects Shaw and Dowden. Their mission is to serve the local Catholic community people. The church is a Roman Catholic cathedral church. The Altar is made from Carrara marble. The church laid the foundation stone for the church in 1858 and commenced on a regular basis for Mass in 1863. The church parish acknowledges that the Aboriginal people of Australia are their first nation peoples and the traditional owners and custodians of this land. The church's design is based on a design from English architect Charles Hansom.”
