“Devonport Church of Christ began as a small fellowship dedicated to sharing the word and glory of God. Over the years, the church has grown, with renovations and expansions made possible through the support and involvement of the local community. In 1893, as Devonport became a central hub, people from surrounding areas came together, and the community began gathering in a larger space for worship and prayer. In 1952, a new church building was constructed to accommodate 40 to 50 people, providing a welcoming place for worship and fellowship. Today, Devonport Church of Christ strives to be a vibrant, healthy church that meets the needs of all generations. With a focus on faith, glory, and humanity, the church aims to support and uplift people from all walks of life. This church's warm and inviting atmosphere draws newcomers and visitors from other communities, creating a space where everyone can join in worship and prayer.

Beautiful community. We were so welcomed by so many. Third time back on our travels in Tasmania. The message was deep and meaningful. This church truly serves the community in so many ways & their generosity & out reach to the poor here and overseas. Other churches could learn much from Gateway. Fabulous welcome pack... thank you so much, Gateway. We were truly blessed. You are Christ's hands and feet in Devonport. Walking the talk.

Thoroughly enjoyed your beautiful Christmas message. Kids so happy people were amazingly welcoming. No judgement just celebrating Jesus his word his good news and eternal life. Thanks for the great day. Forever etched in my heart .

A place to call home, feels like a real family led by genuinely caring people. Feel welcomed and part of a loving group. A great atmosphere. Plenty of entertainment for children.

Louisa & I were warmly welcomed at the door. The service was very positive and so was the message on encouragement. During the fellowship cup of coffee, we were greeted by many members, and it was a great time.

It's a great church with a focus on youth and families. It has good community outreaches and missions. It will accept you wherever you are and will encourage you to grow better.

Very family welcoming & friendly, and helpful. Children & young at heart love it.
