“Tuart Forest National Park features the world's largest remaining area of pure tuart forest. The park is also home to the largest remaining wild population of the Western Ringtail Possum. The trail is about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) long, and reflective markers are installed along narrower parts of the trail. It is accessible via a car park along Layman Road. You can also take a special night trail. The species Eucalyptus gomphocephala, or tuart trees, only grow on the coastal limestone that underlies the area, and the park is home to the tallest and largest specimens remaining on the Swan Coastal Plain. Some of the tallest specimens in the park are over 33 m (108 ft) in height and more than 10 m (33 ft) in circumference. Tuart Forest National Park includes the most extensive remaining section of pure Tuart forest.”
