3 Best Indian Restaurants in Launceston TAS

What a find. I couldn’t fault this restaurant. I advise you book a table as we did. Left a message and had a response within minutes. The staff are super friendly and efficient. The food arrived very promptly and was delicious. Some of the best Indian food I’ve had. I sometimes find I over order at Indian restaurants, but the waiter advised us we didn’t need as much as we intended to order. I was very impressed. We had the mango lassi with our meal which was perfect. It’s also very reasonably priced. Thank you for such a lovely meal. Vegetarian options: Spinach and mushroom was a great addition to a couple of meat curries.

Best north indian cuisine we've had so far. We ordered chicken biryani, beef vindaloo, dahl and potato & cheese kulcha and everything was delicious. Portions were huge compared to other indian restaurants and service was fantastic (both waitresses were very friendly). Highly recommend!

We live in the midst of an abundance of Indian restaurants at home but it takes us visiting Launceston to attend one ! The service was excellent with the waiters providing suggestions and help on selecting the food. It was fresh,tasty and fulfilling. Loved the butter chicken, Naan and fish cooked on the tandoor. The vindaloo was great though we chose prawns ( which weren’t fresh) should have gone the beef. As for the wine , wow what great prices none of this pretentious wines and prices some restaurants offer that are well over rated.

Finally decided to try the Spice lounge tonight and it certainly did not disappoint. Food was amazing! Tried a few dishes and they all were super delicious. It was also good to have the choice of mild or extra spice. The service was exceptional and very attentive. Wish we had tried this sooner. I’m sure this will become one of our favourites ! Will definitely be back!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Spice on Charles and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The starters were absolutely fantastic—full of flavor and beautifully presented. The ambiance of the place was welcoming and cozy, perfect for a relaxed meal with family or friends. The service was equally impressive—attentive, friendly, and efficient. Overall a great dining experience with delicious food and pleasant atmosphere, Highly recommended

We used Google reviews to find this restaurant. And I'm glad we found this little gem. The service was above and beyond, and the food was so fresh, flavoursome and authentic. I'm well travelled and this was by far the best Indian food I've had in such a long time. Please try out Spices on Charles, you will be impressed just as I was.

Food tastes very fresh, flavour is quite mild but can still taste the spices. But butter chicken was a bit too bland for me, homemade fish curry was very good.
