“Drouin Railway Station is a ground-level, unstaffed station featuring an island platform with two faces. The station is believed to have been named either after a Frenchman who invented a chlorination process for the extraction of gold and metals from ore or after an Aboriginal word meaning 'north wind.' Drouin station opened on 1 March 1878, when the railway line was extended from Bunyip to Moe. The station building underwent refurbishment, during which it received Viclink purple station signage. Drouin Railway Station was the first station on the regional rail network to feature this new signage.”

“Drouin War Memorial is a bronze statue near Drouin's railway station. The war memorial is a statue of a battle-dressed infantryman from Australia. Drouin War Memorial memorialises those who have served in the numerous battles involving Australia. The war memorial was originally erected to commemorate those who died in service or were killed in action during World War II. The Drouin War Memorial Park consists of two brick pillars with polished grey granite tablets carrying the names of those who served in both World Wars. The memorial space was expanded with an upgrade to Memorial Park, including new entrances, pathways, and landscaping.”

Love my local library. Staff are always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Popped in to pick up a copy of "Trees in Drouin" $2 for a friend as part of a Christmas gift. Also grabbed a selection of cooking magazines for some ideas for Christmas dinner. Especially the Gluten Free magazine for a family member who is gluten intolerant.

Very helpful team members. Easy to use computers and printers. Books are displayed well and there's 3 different sitting areas. Very clean environment.

The librarian's here are so friendly, inviting, knowlegable & helpful. They have made me feel safe & welcomed since the first day.

DROUIN RAILWAY STATION REVIEWS

I sat for ages trying to work out the train timetables. It was so difficult with some closures due to rail works. How confusing, save yourself the time. I called into the Drouin station and within minutes my tickets to the Melbourne show were sorted. Thankyou to the young lady who assisted me. So knowledgeable and thorough. A big THANKYOU.

Great train station with awesome staff. They have an area where you can take and give books for free. They have had to stop selling drinks/food during covid, but the other day was 41 degrees and I asked if they still sold water. The person said no, but could see I needed it, so offered me a bottle of cold water for nothing. Genuine, country style service.

Freindly, helpful staff. Clean and tidy and has snacks and drinks at good prices at ticket window. Even has book shelves and books to read.

DROUIN WAR MEMORIAL PARK REVIEWS

The war memorial has been modernised with a large statue of a WWII soldier. It has tablets listing local people who fought in World war 1 and World war 2 and in peacekeeping operations since then. The park also has aboriginal art, seating and public toilets. It is a useful stop for travellers, with food stores and car parking nearby as well.

This space is an amazing space for Anzac Day... and it's centrally located in the town. There are public toilets behind the war memorial area, and it's really close to public transport. There are cafes nearby. A very nice memorial place to spent time.
