Morwell Historical Society is an active group dedicated to fostering an interest in the heritage of the district of Morwell, Victoria. The Society pursues the recording, preservation, and publication of the history of its area. Morwell Historical Society was formed in 1962 with an ongoing goal to promote, preserve, and securely record the history of the Morwell district, which includes the areas of Churchill, Driffield, Hazelwood Estate, Hazelwood South, Hazelwood North, Darlimurla, Delburn, Gunyah Gunyah, Jeeralang Junction, Jumbuk, Morwell West, Morwell Bridge, Yinnar, Boolarra, Derham’s Hill, Hernes Oak, and White City, and to make information in its archives readily available to the general public.

2025 Update: Morwell Historical Society has a searchable database of its collection available to the public, and they are currently working towards a centralised database of the records of the member societies of GAAHS to be made available in each of the participating societies’ libraries.
