“Machattie Park is a historically significant destination for enjoying time with family and friends. The park boasts a valuable collection of mature and majestic trees, used informally and formally as avenue plantings. Machattie Park has a Bandstand, Fernery, Lake Spencer, Caretakers Cottage, Crago Fountain, and Munro Drinking Fountain. The park offers many recreational activities like exercise, walking, cycling, and playing. Some fine specimens of exotic trees include Bunya Pine, Atlas Cedar, Deodar Cedar, Red Beech, English Oak, Pin Oak, Wellingtonia, and more. Most of these trees are not native to Australia. There is a large, beautiful fountain and the rotunda. The grass is lush, well-kept, and green, with plenty of open space for picnics or strolls. Machattie Park has ample parking areas.

2025 Update: They offer a broad range of services and facilities across the Bathurst local government area, serving 44,000, population and more than 1,000,000 visitors annually.”

The park offers children’s play equipment, a BBQ area with trees and plantings, exercise stations, and a central pavilion with seating. The park has a playground, boardwalk, path, and many fields to sit and relax. Centennial Park Bathurst is a beautiful place for children and families to engage with outdoor leisure and nature. This scenic large park features a children's playground, jogging paths, benches, and picnic areas. The council has done excellent work on this park. This open space in Bathurst offers opportunities for locals to gather, play ball games, and walk their dogs. Centennial Park Bathurst has wheelchair access.”

MACHATTIE PARK REVIEWS

What a beautiful park in the heart of Bathurst! The pond has HEAPS of ducks and as we went for an early evening stroll through the park we spotted a huge number of bats hanging in the giant pine trees above! Those giant pines are so impressive, and are almost 130 years old! There is a beautiful large fountain and historic rotunda. The grass is well kept, lush and green with plenty of open space for a picnic or a stroll. Public Toilet block on site as well.

Lovely park for picnics and the ever changing trees and flowering shrubs and plants are very pretty. View the ducks and turtles in the Spencer fountain. Follow the paths that weave around through the park. In the park you will find a lovely little enclosed fernery with a cute little path to walk around and the Begonia House with a stunning display of beautiful colourful Begonias.

A lovely little park modelled on the city parks of Victorian Britain. There is a lovely fernery and, in season, fabulous blooms in the begonia house plus a fanciful fountain, picnic tables and a bandstand. The Christmas Carol Party is a summer treat with music and Santa and lots of fun.

BATHURST ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND REVIEWS

What a fantastic place to picnic with a lovely lunch, or a birthday party. Gas BBQs free to use, must clean up when leaving for the next person to enjoy. Dinosaur Park for the kids to play. Swings, Slides & Slippery Dip, Monkey Bars, Climbing Wall, Rope Net Climbs soft safe ground for kids to bounce back after a fall. Shady Trees, nicely manicured lawns and gardens. Water taps available. Under cover Tables and Bench Seats. Good parking around periphery of park. Nice clean toilets incl disabled. Many thanks to Bathurst Council, and it's citizenry for making this great fun & meeting place available to all. This could be a Benchmark for other Councils to consider. Bloody well done Bathurst.

Great place to take the kids. Lots of swings, slides, a maze, a climbing wall, little bridges and great dino-themed landscaping. There is also a large flying fox that has a chair with a seatselt to keep kids in. Handicap swings are also present. Toilet facilities on site. Our kids loved the large silver slide! Wiah we had something like this in our town. Well done Bathurst.

Some of The most Fantastic play equipment I have even seen for the kids including (but definitely not limited to) a very safe and Long flying fox, musical bridge, mini rock climbing wall and a wooden walk through maze! Garden bushes and pathways separating each area. FANTASTIC place to spend the whole day with the little ones.

CENTENNIAL PARK BATHURST REVIEWS

Council has put a lot of good work into this park, there were a few idea a little while back and the community said more trees, lights and pathways. It's a great place for dog walking. Has toilets, a bus stop and small playground.

Centennial Park is located on the corner of Bentinck and Rocket St, it is a big park it has toilets and a playground.

I really enjoy this park for its location and convenient and various gaming activities.
