Tondoon Botanic Gardens specialises in recreating tropical, sub-tropical and dry rainforest plants from the Port Curtis, South East Queensland and Far North Queensland regions. The garden features a tranquil balance made up of naturally displayed gardens that overlook Lake Tondoon, all nestled into the undulating landscape of Mount Biondello. The Visitor Centre is a great place to start if you want to find out information on all the walking trails, features, and facilities within the botanical gardens. Tondoon features three primary living collections: the Port Curtis Plant Region Collection, the South East Queensland Rainforest Collection, and the North Queensland Rainforest Collection. Tondoon Botanic Gardens also hosts free kids' garden tours, where knowledgeable guides journey past butterflies, birds, and bush tucker.

2025 Update: Tondoon Botanic Gardens is at the foot of Mount Biondello. Every year, over 200,000 people come to walk, picnic, or attend events. The garden has over 3,000 plant varieties, and 90% of them are native to the region. They are all grown on the 83-hectare property next to mount biondello.

2025 Update: Ample parking is available opposite the Auckland House restaurant/cafe and within a short walking distance of public amenities. The museum ship, HMAS Gladstone, is a 42-metre former Australian Navy patrol boat.
