The volunteers have done such an amazing job to preserve and maintain history through this facility. Was a bit heart broken to learn that there is no funding from any government bodies just some grants. It intrigues me that such place dont get much government support specially after seeing other similar kind of attractions here in Australia soem of which weren't even half good. I hope more people come forth to support, buy tickets and volunteer for this initiative!

Just off the motorway at Beenleigh it’s tucked in opposite Mitre 10. It cost $4 a person and then extra for jumping castle, pony rides or petting zoo. There was heaps to see and do for the kids or those who are historically inclined. They have a variety of demos to enjoy throughout the day which are well run by the staff. There’s also a coffee shop / cafe available. The images will give you a feel for what your money gets you but for $16 for a family of 4 it was a great morning and early arvo out. Not much parking so you have to park on the road. Jumping castle is small but there’s heaps of animals in the small petting zoo area.

Visited here today. Great collection of items from yesterday in original buildings. Many great old photos and storys of yester year. A great activity for upcoming school holidays.

The koalas are hard to find in the trees, but the jungle is beautiful. If you have kids, take them to see the koalas first. They will love it and then you can take them for a walk, encouraging them to find any koalas sleeping or moving in the trees. The place provides lots of information about the koalas. I have visited this place multiple times and have never been disappointed.

It's a beautiful nature centre for koalas, we had a great day, specially the guy with huge amount of information with detailed. It has a big area including walking trails, plenty of car park, picnic area. Great and amazing.

Great experience. Free entry. If you want to see Koalas move, get there at 1.30pm, which is their feed time. Great presenter share information about Koala. Went home and learned something new.

Visited the cottage today where we were greeted with an outstanding guide ( Fiona) who was knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about the cottage, heritage and protection of our history. Mayes cottage surprised me ! A beautiful gem in the middle of a suburban setting. I would highly recommend a visit ! Areas available outside to seek shade - take a picnic and enjoy a step back to the past. Free entry.

We were lucky to be the first family to have a birthday picnic in the garden of this beautiful old property. Lovely Fiona - who looks after the cottage - set up some wonderful 'olden days' games for the kids to play, like throwing bean bags into a bucket. Doesn't sound like much, but these iPad-addicted tech-savvy 8-year-olds had a great time. They also had the pleasure of being shown around the beautiful, characterful home. The artefacts there helped to bring Fiona's stories of the Maye family and their place in settler Logan to life. Well worth a visit, even if it's not for a family party!

I travelled 1.5hours to be here and its totally worth it. Its small and takes a max of 30mins to tour this place. But its free entrance n we'll maintaines by the friendly staff. Yvonne explained the history of the house n show me around. This place is kept in uts original state and definitely a rare find. Do visit and support this place.
