BEENLEIGH HISTORICAL VILLAGE AND MUSEUM REVIEWS
Just off the motorway at Beenleigh it’s tucked in opposite Mitre 10. It cost $4 a person and then extra for jumping castle, pony rides or petting zoo. There was heaps to see and do for the kids or those who are historically inclined. They have a variety of demos to enjoy throughout the day which are well run by the staff. There’s also a coffee shop / cafe available. The images will give you a feel for what your money gets you but for $16 for a family of 4 it was a great morning and early arvo out. Not much parking so you have to park on the road. Jumping castle is small but there’s heaps of animals in the small petting zoo area.
This was a lovely colonial museum with a number of interesting displays. We definitely enjoyed talking to the cooper who is now on site and learning about this craft/trade, and the history, not just locally but worldwide. I enjoyed the audiovisual components that were part of some of the displays. There was a great collection of emerging technology in the communication and typewriter/computer area. Fascinating to see how massive some things were, and it brings back some memories too! We had a very pleasant walk around the grounds, unhurried, and enjoyed a substantial morning tea on the shaded verandah by the museum cafe.
Kids loved it . Such an amazing experience for kids and adults. Staff are really friendly, really well priced for a cheap and fun day out,the little Cafe is situated in a beautiful area just beside the aboriginal shows they do at night. Would live to catch that show!

This centre offers a unique opportunity to delve into the world of koalas and their conservation efforts. DAISY HILL KOALA CENTRE REVIEWS
A great place to learn about koalas and other Australian animals with family and friends. It is accessible for prams and wheelchairs. Beautiful and quiet. There is plenty of car parks if you go past the centre and follow along the bqq yard areas. There is a few bqq's available although I didn't see any bins which is understandable it is open to wildlife so do take a bag and take your rubbish with you. The place is very clean and tidy. Do not take food inside centre as it isn't safe for the animals. There are plenty of trails to follow if you like taking strolls in the forest. There is one way to drive in and one way to drive out. Definitely a place to visit! It's free and open to the public.
An educational place to visit! Admission is free. It’s a natural outdoor setting center with a theater. My kids enjoyed reading and learning some information about koalas. The rescued koalas in the center look very relaxed. The number of koalas may vary from time to time. There were 3 when we visited. There are outdoor picnic areas and barbecue stand outside the center. We had a pleasant visit.
Great free koala education centre that allows for learning about koalas and what goes into looking after them in Brisbane. Highly recommend visiting It is free. Donations are encouraged though. We visited for the morning with our little one and had a wonderful time. Definitely recommend visiting again.

MAYES COTTAGE REVIEWS
I visited this place last Saturday and it was a pleasant surprise for me. I was driving through the street in front of the house at the time and was planning to inspect a nearby investment property. Suddenly, I found a lawn on top of the mountain. There are several houses in the center of the meadow, surrounded by some trees and flowers. When I drove into the land, parked the car, and approached the house, a young volunteer (a lovely girl) was already here waiting for me. She showed me around and explained everything patiently. Plus, there's an elegant lady who's been busy cleaning floors and wiping dust off items. Occasionally she would help the young girl answer some questions. It can be seen that the two of them cooperate very well. The girl accompanied me through the whole room, introduced the situation of the Mayes family, various household items from a hundred years ago, and invited me to taste the macadamia nuts from the backyard. You have to admit, it was a really wonderful experience. I plan to come again with my daughter and wife sometime. Let them also feel the beauty here.
I travelled 1.5hours to be here and its totally worth it. Its small and takes a max of 30mins to tour this place. But its free entrance n we'll maintaines by the friendly staff. Yvonne explained the history of the house n show me around. This place is kept in uts original state and definitely a rare find. Do visit and support this place.
Called into Mayes Cottage on a wet and windy Friday afternoon and it was well worth the effort. The lady who showed us around was very enthusiastic and informative, so well done to all the volunteers and City of Logan for keeping the history alive.
