3 Best Thai Restaurants in Mittagong NSW

The staff were courteous and very helpful explaining the menu options. Including choosing the ingredients for a fried rice order. The food was well presented and cooked in a way that I found tasted very light and fresh. The parsley on the plate provided a fresh zing to the meal. I tried duck pancakes, chicken fried rice and lamb with fresh vegetables. All meals were so well prepared by the chef and very tasty. I would recommend Bangkok House, top marks!

We enjoyed some of the best Thai food we have eaten at Bangkok House. The standards (Pad Thai, Sate Chicken) were excellent - loads of flavour. We also had the duck pancakes and sizzling Wangu beef - both fabulous, and a couple of stir fries - again, loads of flavour. Everything was delicious. We were there mid-week so only a couple of groups were eating-in but there was a constant stream of people ordering take-away. Service was friendly and quick.

Super fast, delicious, healthy and cheap for lunch special. Had basil veg stir fry for $11.90 made vegan and gluten free - check out their lunch specials.

Everything about this place is 5 star. The service, the attention to detail, atmosphere, food, cleanliness, value, price, size portions, everything. Even the chairs! (They... recline! You will want to after such a hearty meal!) I want to talk about the chef and the food. Massive compliments to the chef, she is amazing. Every curry, every sauce, every dish was an explosion of surprise. Our favourites were the Hokkaido Scallops, and the soft shell crab if we had to pick but it is hard to as each dish has its own personality and character to it. You simply must come to try. I have added photos and it is a pity photos cannot be tasted...

What a gem. If you’re after truly authentic traditional Thai dishes then this place isn’t for you. If you’re after fusion with a lean towards authentic then yes. Well flavoured dishes with a lot of layers, complexity you wouldn’t get from a typical pan fried scallops with cauliflower purée. Attentive service, modern decor that’s a bit sterile, could do with some personality. Otherwise it’s clean and comfortable.

Had the most wonderful lunch today at Paste Australia in Mittagong. Loved all the dishes which had amazing flavours but OMG those scallops were sensational. Impeccable service and really enjoyed recommend

Thai Som Boon is a fantastic spot for anyone craving authentic Thai cuisine. The highlight of the menu is their Pork Belly, which is cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with just the right amount of seasoning. The flavors are well-balanced, with a delicious mix of savory and slightly sweet notes, making each bite irresistible. The restaurant has a cozy, welcoming ambiance and friendly staff who provide excellent service. Whether you're dining in or taking out, the food quality is consistently top-notch. Definitely a must-visit for pork belly lovers!

It was the earliest place we could find open at 5pm after calling around. We had massaman beef and BBQ wagyu beef - both were good. The wagyu beef may not fill your tummy but the massaman had a good portion size. The roti is tiny so recommend getting rice with the massaman. Service was fast, and the place looked good.

Love coming to this place each week, very consistent meals, friendly service. Their lunch specials are great value.
