I love old building. A great example of incorporating traditional Gothic elements and still taking into account our tropical environment. The foundations / basement were built in 1896, for £1,160.and was completed at a further cost of £8,330 and opened by Bishop Higgins on 16 November 1902.This is part of the Townsville heritage trails which we tell our backpacking guests about at the Reef Lodge here in Townsville. Guest can do this at no cost and can pick up a map from the info center.

Definitely check it out. Unique and authentic service. And the majestic art lining the walls is the closest to the Cistine Chapel in North Queensland. Come along, and hear some Greek singing about Jesus for three hours!
