“Sacred Heart Cathedral was established to serve the growing Catholic and parish communities in the locality. The church is a substantial brick building of Gothic-style architecture. The stone is laid on the new church of the Sacred Heart Cathedral was laid on 7 October 1900, and the church was completed and opened on 16 November 1902. The church is a heritage-listed cathedral that Dennis Kelleher built. Sacred Heart Cathedral faced many renovations and expansions over the years, now a well-known landmark with a strong association with the community. The Parish wishes to pursue the setting up of young men's and young women's groups.

2025 Update: The church is a heritage-listed Roman Catholic cathedral and was built by Dennis Kelleher.”

“Saint James' Anglican Cathedral provides a sacred place and teaches community children about the importance of faith and humanity. The church's sizeable red-brick structure was designed by Arthur Blacket and was built by MacMahon & Cliffe. Saint James' Anglican Cathedral's final design was built in stone, with a low, wide central tower that would act as a ventilation shaft and a single tower at the northern door in 1887. The church formed a commitment, and the church members were appointed to raise funds for the construction. The church was officially opened for the masses in 1960. Saint James' Anglican Cathedral offers a blend of traditional and contemporary Anglican liturgy.

Beautiful Cathedral and the Candles added a special touch. Very talented musicians and enjoyed the evening. Not too long and a cool air coming in. I was worried it might be too hot, but it was not.

I enjoyed a beautiful Vivaldi concert at Sacred Heart Cathedral. The candles created a beautiful atmosphere in the majestic church.

Experienced the candlelight tribute the sound was as amazing as the artists playing.

Loud misic Youthful atmosphere. great for young adults and kids the 6pm service, choir at 9am and 10am service more for the elderly at the am services. been going since 2016, awesome friendly church.

Had my first visit to Calvary on Sunday. Wow the Holy Spirit was there. Very friendly people great facilities.

A church that feels like home. Welcoming and energetic. I am excited to turn up every week!! Made so many friends and guaranteed a phenomenal word each week.

SAINT JAMES' ANGLICAN CATHEDRAL REVIEWS

A beautiful, historic, safe, and sacred place. Open to everyone, and very welcoming. Tours by volunteers available Mon-Fri without booking. Access to a priest arranged if requested. Regular services, recitals, and concerts. A quiet place for all, to spend time reflecting/ praying without being disturbed. Available for weddings, baptism, and funerals. Livestreaming loved ones' funerals can be made available.

The Cathedral looked stunning, the musicians were fabulous. Enjoyed from beginning to end. Excellent value for money

A magical evening listening to Hans Zimmer music, by 4 talented musicians, it was an enchanting experience.
