We arrived into Dubbo mid afternoon and headed straight to Old Dubbo Gaol. We arrived in time for the afternoon guided tour and wandered around on our own until it started. The cells were scary and the mannequins used inside the cells even scarier! The guided tour started with an extremely talented young lady in period dress and in character. She was entertains and her stories of past convicts was both informative and funny. Her interaction with the younger children in the group was excellent.

We always visit old houses, mansions, homesteads wherever we go and Dundullimal Homestead represents the glorious 1800's of young Australia. It has been kept in its original state - the house, stable and even has a chapel. Thanks to the ladies who volunteer their precious time!

It is a great architectural building. By this time, the settlement had only four buildings; the constables residence, courthouse and lock-up, a store and an inn.
