We joined one of the twice weekly tours which included a visit to Victoria House which was originally a hospital. There were medical equipment displays to be seen. Then the tour took us round the back where the second gaol was and the guide explained a lot about the events that took place there. Across the car park is the original gaol house and court. This is now used as a craft centre which has helped conserve the building and stopped it from being demolished. A worthwhile visit.

This is one of the loveliest memorials we have visited. Set high on the hill with beautiful ocean views every aspect has been thoughtfully designed and constructed. There were a lot of people visiting on the day that we were there, but there was an air of total respect for the whole place and the great loss of lives that it represented. The grounds were beautifully cared for, a very fitting tribute to so many.
