“Army Museum North Queensland is one of the prominent places that showcase an extensive collection of the history of the Army in North Queensland. The North Queensland Military Museum was renamed the Army Museum of North Queensland and moved to its current location in 2009. It is a recently refurbished building that presents a diverse range of military memorabilia tracing Australia’s involvement in war and peacekeeping operations. Army Museum North Queensland has three galleries that focus on the history of the Australian Army in North Queensland from the late 1800s until the end of the Boer War. The Museum has an excellent collection, especially of the Australian Army in the North Queensland region, covering pre-and post-Federation up to recent conflicts. Army Museum North Queensland also affords the option of free admission for all of its customers. Additionally, the Army Museum North Queensland features displays on North Queensland army history in historic military barracks.”
