2025 Update: Palmetum is a 17-hectare botanic garden and displays the most diverse public collections of palms in the world. The garden recognised attraction was supported and planned by the Townsville community. The Palmetum is located in the suburb of Annandale, near the Ross River, James Cook University and the Townsville Hospital. The garden is an extensive palm collection displayed in a variety of habitats, which is the main feature. and the park hosts most of the events and ceremonies. Palmetum offers facilities such as Formal Gardens, Pathways, Gazebos and Shelters. The garden provides Picnic Facilities, Seats, Benches, Walking Tracks and Wheelchair Access facilities.
