“Dr Alvaro Cervera did his medical education at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, Spain. He trained to be a neurologist at the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona, Spain, in 2001. Furthermore, he completed stroke fellowships at the same hospital and Austin Hospital, Melbourne 2008. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a Fellow of the European Stroke Organization. He has a primary interest in stroke and deals with migraine and other headaches, epilepsy, movement disorders, and multiple sclerosis. He is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists, the World Stroke Organization and the Spanish Neurology Society. He has publications, mainly in the stroke field, and published abstracts in numerous international meetings. He is multilingual, and he speaks Catalan, Spanish and English. He also practices at Royal Darwin Hospital.”
