It took 40 years for me to receive a correct diagnosis which Prof Bittar provided. Prior Specialists/GPs mostly made me feel like I was drug-seeking and/or a poor self-manager with low pain threshold - all patently untrue, and certainly the Prof did not treat me that way. Unfortunately, those 40 years were a hard 'slog'. Increasingly, back-related issues controlled my life. Surgery was a while coming - waiting for appointments with the Prof mostly and then a surgical date, and that was all frustrating for someone desperate for a better life. However, it did provide me with hope and time to get myself into as good physical condition as possible which I did. I also appreciate that there are many people needing neurosurgical care and the complex logistics of getting specialist surgical teams and space organised. It's now 9 weeks post-surgery and I feel so much better even though I'm clearly still healing and heavily limited in what I can do. I have none of the old back pain, can stand straight, lie on my back etc etc - the world has changed for the better, and I thank the surgical team and Prof Bittar in particular for that.

My medical outcome with Prof Bittar far exceeded my expectations. I attribute this to Prof Bittar's thorough and applied expert knowledge in looking beyond the general causes of the exhibiting symptoms, his methodical approach in pre-operative procedures to confirm his diagnosis, and expertise in spinal surgery to deliver a painless 100% recovery to my pre-medical condition. Added to this, I must comment on the professional and engaging nature of his assiting surgical and allied medical team, and also the professionalism and the service response of his office was impressively outstanding. Thankyou for an overall exceptional outcome and experience.

Dr Ales, an amazing surgeon, extremely compassionate and caring with his patients. From my 1st consultation I had a clear understanding of what was causing my issues, his explanation was clear and simple. He made himself available when I needed him in emergency and did everything he said he would. Every time he advised he would be there, he was, without leaving me waiting, very caring, approachable and dedicated to make our lives (his patients) get back to being its fullest. I had a failed disc in my neck at c6 and c7. I was assessed by two surgeons and decided to go with Dr Ales from mineuro based on his diagnosis and professionalism. The disc replacement took place at epworth eastern in box hill. I was up and walking the same day. There were no complications and the results were immediate. Dr Ales Aliaschkevich is a wonderful surgeon and I felt totally comfortable with him looking after me. He was understanding and helpful at all consultations and explained the procedure to me and also provided drawings so I fully understood everything. He has a lovely way of dealing with his patients and I could not recommend anyone as highly as Dr Aliaschkevich. I was in alot of pain and had some complicated issues with my spine. Dr Ales was confident that he could provide me with some relief. As soon as l was able to get up after the operation, there was no pain. I am now back to normal and doing everything I would like to. Dr Aliashkevich had done the spinal surgery operation for my mom 2 months ago. My mom was having 10/10 pain before surgery and we really appreciate for Dr Ales and Shanalee’s help as the appointment was booked urgently for the operation to be done in the next 2 days. She was uninsured patient and Dr Ales was genuinely caring, polite and provided helpful professional advice. The surgery cost is affordable and very reasonable. I have had successful back surgery. After a series of X-rays and MRI etc. my GP referred me to Dr. Aliashkevich. Given Covid we had two telephone discussion. Doctor came across as a gentle and very caring person and discussed options for my wife and I to consider. The Doctor’s suggestion was for surgery to be the last option. After time and consideration we opted for surgery. The Doctor and his support staff were very caring and I am very pleased with the outcome.

Like all of the reviews I also gave Dr Ales 5+ Stars for my cervical spine surgery on the 15th Sept 22. Whilst trying to manage my degenerative issues initially with more conservative options, after 6 months it was recommended to have surgery on my C5/6 & C6/7 which I had at Epworth Richmond. The whole process was better than expected, the hospital was great and the results at 8 weeks are better than I expected given the short time. Still have rehab and strengthening to do but what a great outcome so far. Thank you Dr Ales. Reply

First and foremost, I wish to give my upmost sincere apologies to Ales and the team at MiNeuro for the delay in typing up this review. Ales is world class!!! There is no other way to put it. There are but two surgeons in all of Australia that I would trust unconditionally with my body and Ales is one of them. I underwent a L5/S1 ALIF and TDR of L4/L5 in August after suffering a severe workplace injury in May. After relocating to Victoria I spent countless months researching every spinal/neurosurgeon in Victoria and it was unsurprisingly continually falling as Ales as THE best in the game. From our initial appointment in Jan to surgery in Aug he was straight down the line and welcomingly "brutally honest" about not only my injuries, the surgery but the likely outcome post-surgery. We did not take the surgery option on a whim. There was no other option with my rapidly worsening condition and the likely-hood of a recovery without ongoing pains, problems and restrictions were very low given the injuries sustained. Some(most) will dance around this, and understandably so, but I appreciated the honesty. The surgery doesn't get it twisted - the surgery and recovery is not only brutal, but the recovery is terrible and long. it's taken me 5 years post-op to get to around 30% of where I was pre-injury. But that's part of the injuries and surgery combined (mixed in with 2 1/2 years of covid lockdowns). Ales is just simply the best in the business, and if he gives you his "opinion", please, I truly know how hard it can be to hear, but he does not give it to pump his own numbers or piss into the wind. What a great experience meeting up with Prof Greg Malham again. Apart from his amazing expertise in this field, he is also very entertaining. You will get a laugh but he calls "a spade a spade" and he is not one who will operate just for the sake of operating. You will feel confident you have been diagnosed thoroughly and he is willing to answer any questions you may have, which is very important to a patient when there are so many unknowns. As for his staff they are also very welcoming and helpful. Unlike one office I dealt with recently. It is so comforting when staff at these clinics have empathy towards the patients. Natalie and Salina are a great team together with Prof Greg Malham. Highly recommend.

If there were 10 stars, I would give 10/10. I am strongly recommend Prof. Greg Malham to anyone. We always can access lots of GPs, nurses and professionals, but he is the ONLY one with best service. He respects and emphasized my situation with professional manners. His team is amazing and looks after everyone. I trust him is not only because of his skills, also his intelligence, beliefs, service, responsibilities and positive energies.

Mr Malham performed a microdiscectomy on a family member. He was so knowledgeable on the surgery and recovery for the particular case and kept all of us feeling reassured that we were in the best of hands!
