Capricorn Caves constitute one of Australia's largest privately owned cave systems located 23 kilometres north of Rockhampton. The caves were initially unearthed in 1881 by Norwegian migrant John Olsen, who secured the land under a leasehold title. He later made it accessible to the public as an attraction in 1884. The property transitioned to freehold land and now stands as one of Australia's largest privately owned cave systems. These captivating caves have been open to the public for an extended period, serving as one of Queensland's longest-running tourist attractions.

CAPRICORN CAVES REVIEWS
Went on the adventure tour, was really impressed with how challenging and fun the experience was. Expect to properly crawl on your belly, was a very unique and exciting experience. Well worth the money. Also top rating to the tour guide Byron, great guy with very reassuring, knowledgeable and funny.
The Caves are a "must do" experience. Izzy and Amber led us through a maze of different caves and the beauty and enormity has to be seen to be truly appreciated. The special lighting effects in The Cathedral was amazing.
Stopped off here to look around the caves and loved it. Amazing caves and lovely staff.

ROCKHAMPTON BOTANIC GARDENS REVIEWS
Very odd bunch of trees. Still loved it. They have a tropical fruit section. Seems a bit unloved in places and has a strange layout. Trees from all over the place! Even arabica coffee is growing. Lots of birds. I even saw two chickens haha, assuming they escaped from close by housing. Not very busy even on a Sunday, most people hang around the playground or the lagoon.
The day we visited was very hot, so most of the animals were deep in the shade. But fortunately for us they slowly came out when the carers came to give the food . The Merecats , Chimps and Cassowary were my favourites. The family of Chimps played and the baby was sticking straw into the fathers mouth then pulling it out, very playful. The zoo is a great size.
Always amazed to visit here. Love that it's so well kept. Animals all so healthy looking and gardens so well kept. The shop offers great food, with lovely happy staff. Nice souvenirs.

Archer Park Rail Museum served as the central railway station in the area from the turn of the century until the mid-1920s, playing a pivotal role in Queensland's railway system expansion. This museum focuses on the 1930s era in Rockhampton and Central Queensland, offering a glimpse into the past through the railway refreshment room and static displays. These exhibits provide insight into the time when railways were the primary mode of transportation, showcasing section cars, carts, rail tractors, and revealing the life of a railway fettler. With a wealth of captivating rail displays and memorabilia, including a C17 Steam Engine, a Diesel Engine 1614, heritage rail carriages from 1903 and 1921, and an immersive soundscape that brings the 1930s railway era to vivid life, the museum provides an engaging experience. Notably, the Purrey Steam Tram is recognized as the only operational Purrey Steam Tram globally.

ARCHER PARK RAIL MUSEUM REVIEWS
Came across Archer Park Rail Museum when I went to visit the CQ Military Museum, which turns out to be right next to it and couldn't help but to go in too. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and great exhibits. They also have the only operational steam powered Purrey Tram in the world. Worth the visit.
The locals have spent considerable time and effort, which has resulted in an attractive tourist attraction. This is worth stopping and spending time at. Well done to those that have devoted to their time.
Nice museam right across from the military museam. Was interesting to walk through the old trains and engines they have here.
