3 Best Sushi in Cairns, QLD

Food tasted great and very fresh. Oysters tasted clean and fresh. We occasionally eat at various Sushi Trains around Cairns and the food at this restaurant was noticeably better, than the Sushi Train franchise which has multiple locations in the Cairns area. I would say the location works against the Orient Express to a degree, because the Orchid Plaza mall is old, somewhat dirty and outdated, really needs a refurbishment. So being in this location I believe has a subconscious effect on potential customers, leading them to think the food is low quality and cheap but actually it’s nice. I’ve lived in Cairns for many years and barely knew this place existed. Great food, next time I’m hankering for Sushi in Cairns , I’ll prioritise this restaurant.

Best sushi ever. The salmon sashimi was the freshest we’ve ever had, seriously felt like it was melting in your mouth. The orient tasting plate was to die for. Couldn’t fault anything we tried. Fella was great to help with ordering & you can see the chefs making the food nice and fresh.

One of the best customer service in cairns. All dishes were so fresh and delicious. The salmon slices were thick very nice, reasonable price, good food, good staff! We will back again.

Had dinner here during our holiday in Cairns and my partner and I absolutely LOVED everything. When you walk through the door, the whole staff greets you in Japanese, and when you leave they all say thank you loudly in Japanese.

Even before the other Sushi Trains closed down, this has definitely been the best of them. I never have to order food because they always have the dishes I want, on the train. The staff are always so beautifully polite and hospitable.

One of the best sushi train I’ve ever had in Australia. We only stay in Cairns for 4 nights and we ate here 2 nights in a row. Wish we had such a good sushi place in Melbourne.

Had lunch at Wawawa with the fam and it was awesome! Chicken was super crispy and our little one smashed it. The salmon poke was delish and the scallops were spot on. Staff were really friendly and the portions were massive. Cheers for the free drink for the kid – such a nice surprise. If you’re in Cairns, give it a go. We’d happily go back for more.

Wow feeling! What a great surprise eating from this innovative menu. Fantastic ingredients handled in a magic way. And service into perfection. Can’t wait to come back here next year.

It was a good vibe for having authentic Japanese food and fusion food as well with drinks. The food was great and the kindness of the staff and the boss was good I would recommend to friends.
