3 Best Chinese Restaurants in Canberra ACT

There was a line outside and we were hesitant but decided to wait. Glad we did as it was a 10 min wait (staff initially said 20 mins). Food came out so fast. We were in and out within 45 mins. Perfect if you’re off to something else after and need a quick dinner. But also wasn’t rushed either if you wanted a nice long feast. Great food.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner of dumplings and duck San chow Bao. Long line out the door lucky we booked on a Friday night. The kitchen area is glassed and you can see the dumplings being made. Very efficient service and the meal came out quickly.

Always fast service, great food, decent prices. The place gets noisy when it's busy, but that's part of it's charm. If you like to watch kitchens at work, ask for a seat at the bar.

I like this dumpling shop very much! First of all, their dumplings are absolutely amazing, each one is very delicately wrapped and delicious, I can't stop eating one bite after another. Next time, the environment in the store is comfortable, the service attitude is also very good, and it makes people feel the warmth of home. And the price is affordable, the cost performance is super high! In short, this dumpling shop is very suitable for all friends who love food, you will definitely not regret it.

Just had lunch there and it was absolutely delicious. Boiled mix dumplings were packed full Of flavour. The pan friend pork dumplings were the best I’ve had and the combo chow Mein yum, juicy and tender! I will be back again.

Nice environment for dinner. Food arrived super quick. Salted hot fried tofu is delicious. Dumpling filling is really tasty but boiled dumpling can be a bit chewy due to thickness of the dough. Steamed bbq pork buns are yummy but don't have the fluffy bun or dark sticky sauce that you find at yumcha. The Pineapple drink is interesting because it has fizz and pineapple pieces. It reminded me too much of pineapple that had been in the fridge too long. The drink was fine but it was hard to shake that thought.

We were fantastically surprised by this hidden gem of a restaurant. Evidently all the locals in Canberra know about the awesome Chinese food at Happy's. The dishes we selected came hot fast and fresh and the prices reflected the quality of the food and the excellent service. Don't be discouraged by the below street level location or the basic but clean functional layout you will not be disappointed.

We loved this cozy spot for casual dinner full of delicious dishes. Service was great and fast. Recommend for a friendly night out or a quick bite! We loved the honey prawns, spicy beef and really rate the special fried rice.

Took my dad there for his 90th. The food was absolutely outstanding. So was the service. The salt and pepper white bait was a particular standout. The garlic prawns were massive too. I'd had many people recommend this place to me and I can see why. Absolute 5star and some of the best food Canberra has to offer.
