“Mount Coot-tha Reserve is a natural area that covers approximately 1600 hectares of rainforest gullies, open eucalypt forest and creeklines. Mount Coot-tha connects with D'Aguilar National Park; both natural areas cover up to 40,000 hectares of forest and ensure beautiful views of waterfalls and seasonal creeks. The Reserve includes 9 picnic areas with public toilet facilities for the comfort of visitors. Mount Coot-tha is a haven for various species that include 450 native plant species and 370 wildlife species, such as kites, eagles, robins, wrens, parrots, cockatoos, powerful owls, possums and other forest birds. The reserve ensures breathtaking views of the sunshine coast and Moreton Bay during the day and the glittering cityscape of Brisbane at night.
