WALSH MEMORIAL PARK
Since 1994
“Walsh Memorial Park comprises numerous memorials, with the prominent one featuring three large rough-hewn silver-grey Moruya granite blocks. These blocks represent the many mountain campaigns undertaken by the Army and Air Force, as well as the mountainous seas encountered by the Navy. The memorial celebrates the service of personnel in all campaigns. In front of the monument is a sandstone forecourt, symbolising engagements in the desert, while the evergreens in the gardens represent jungle campaigns. The memorial is flanked on either side by walls of remembrance. Walsh Memorial Park was rebuilt and rededicated on 11 November 1994, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II. This plaque is dedicated to all the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.”
