Mittagong Railway Station serves the town of Mittagong in the Southern Highlands and was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999. The station is the junction for the former alignment of the Main South Railway line from Picton, as well as the now-dismantled line that once served the ghost town of Joadja. Mittagong Railway Station has two side platforms and is served by NSW TrainLink Southern Highlands Line services, which operate between Campbelltown and Moss Vale. There are also limited morning services to Sydney Central and limited evening services to Goulburn. Mittagong Railway Station complex is of particular historical significance, featuring an early railway building from 1867 that remains intact within the group.
