3 Best Veterinarians in Hobart TAS

Yesterday our dog Amber consumed the majority of a slab of chocolate brownies necessitating a visit to the vet. Montrose Vet Centre were great at fitting us in straight away and providing a safe remedy for Amber's dining :) Efficient, polite and informative. Couldn't have been better. Thank you.

Excellent vet, takes care of all our animals. My epileptic dog is very well looked after here. Not very expensive at all, normally about 40 dollars for a consult. Got quoted 1200 for a tooth extraction, eye growth cut off and all the after care. Ended up being only 750 dollars. Highly recommended.

Had a trip to the Montrose Vet yesterday for our 4 year old cat who we took to the emergency after hours vet on Sunday. They managed to fit us in due to a cancellation, were friendly & explained everything to us well. Lovely, caring staff & overall a good experience.

I just want to say thank you very much for taking care of my little one and I, since he was 6 months old. We love our visits to NHVH because we know Bruce will be very well looked after, get lots of love, care, attention and receive great bunny dental treatments from Dr Manty, Dr Jennifer and all the doctors and nurses. After treatments, he always recovers so well and goes home happy again. NHVH is the Best (Bunny) Veterinary Hospital ever!.

I have been a very satisfied customer of NHVH for over 25 years with a number of glorious cats and dogs being seen by the dedicated team. My latest addition, Nonny has had a wonderful start in life thanks to puppy school, visits to see Dr Jen and her recent spaying. I am always impressed by the friendly staff and the professional, informative and gentle care my animals receive.

For almost fifteen years now my animals have been patients at the NHVH, enough years to encompass several animal lifetimes. They've shared the beautiful beginnings and the tearful endings - as if we're part of the 'family. I couldn't ask for more.

I have taken 3 of family cars to be desexed, microchips and vaccinations. Extremely kind, compassionate, ethical, low priced to allow everyone to access vet care. All cats recovered well and quickly. Love this vet practice, highly recommended for all needs

Amazing care is given to my Dog Halo by all the staff, and you can see that the Veterarian really loves and chererishes the animals they work with, and, in turn, the animals respond well and chill out with no stress Best place for your fur babies.

There are two veterinarians at this practice whom I hold in the highest regard. They are capable, compassionate, and highly intelligent, and based purely on their clinical care, I could not recommend them enough. However, excellent veterinary care is simply not enough to keep me as a client. This clinic has built a huge client base precisely because they are known for offering financial hardship assistance. It seems great to begin with, but if there are any complications, upper management is absolutely ruthless. It is devastating enough to lose a beloved pet. Ending up in debt when the animal died anyway hits incredibly hard. Having to navigate that profound grief alongside a high-risk pregnancy, an early delivery, and unexpected financial hardship is an extraordinarily heavy burden. When you are at your most vulnerable, realizing their "compassion" is just a performance that turns incredibly hostile over a simple administrative issue is unforgivable. They escalated my account to a debt collection agency entirely without due process. When I directly—but politely—challenged their failure to follow standard consumer law regarding proper contact, and provided an explanation for confusion and payment issues that were the fault of the bank and a misunderstanding due to the extreme circumstances at the time of needing the assistance, management did not even have the professional courtesy to respond. They simply ignored me and forwarded it back to the debt collection agency who I had also expressed were appallingly unprofessional and rude. You couldn't pay me to go back now. If you ever find yourself in a tight spot, do not think you won't be treated appallingly by the administration here. I strongly encourage people to think twice before becoming a client; there are plenty of other great clinics around Hobart. - Bee Heler Reply
