THE GRAZING GOAT CAFE REVIEWS
Was in town for work and came for brekky with colleagues. Compared to some other extremely popular places just up the road, this was EXCEPTIONAL - fantastic service, fast and friendly. I asked for a side of the kombu chili sauce bc it sounded so interesting and she gave me some for free. (Spoiler: it was AWESOME!). The coffee and food came out pretty quickly given how busy they were, and it was delicious! I had the spicy beans and sausage with poached egg and spinach which was great. Really good, proper sourdough toast, chewy and tangy and not that fake sourdough you get from Coles. And a perfectly poached egg. But I was really jealous of my colleagues who had the savoury mince on toast - the mince was saucy and rich. And another two colleagues had returned just for the mushroom croque monsieur with three cheese sauce - it looked GLORIOUS - rich cheesy melty goodness, with a mound of rocket and shaved parmesan on top. YUM. The chef really knows his stuff and you don't often find that in regional centres - wonderful attention to detail and obvious eye for quality ingredients. Really special place, will be back!
This place has been recommended to me by several people, walked past a few times and always seem the place full of customers. Tried it myself finally and totally agree with the recommendation. Delicious breakfast and good coffee. I ordered the zucchini fritters to opt for the healthier menu options and was happy with my choice, good presentation on the plate and tastes amazing. Highly recommended.
Lovely spot to sit in the sun and have a coffee. We stopped on the way through while charging at theMackay ChargeFox station nearby. Seems very popular with locals. The menu looked great and offered delicious looking breakfast till 11am and lunch till around 2:30pm. Closed Sundays. Dog friendly :).

BOTANIC GARDENS CAFE REVIEWS
Lovely place for a coffee or breakfast. I had a toasted sandwich and a coffee which was lovely. Awesome to see the wild life around. Snakes, different types of birds, butterflies, beautiful plants.
Just wanted to say a big thank you to Cliff and the lovely staff at the Lagoon Café for their ongoing support. We hold our monthly Happy Greys Social Club coffee morning for greyhounds and their owners there, and with our increasing membership it can get *interesting* with so many dogs and owners milling about. The staff have been unfailingly helpful and friendly to the owners and affectionate and kind to the dogs, and we all enjoy going there.
Definitely worth a visit when at the Gardens. The food is great and well priced. There is plenty of seating and the views are very nice.
Beautiful surroundings is the first welcome, well maintained and lovely views in a relaxed atmosphere. The food choices, too many to list yet a great selection including various drinks, all at a reasonable price. Then the staff, always cheerful and helpful. Finally, a bonus is the dog friendly welcome with plenty of walking areas in the park. Tell Cliff we sent you - Annie

Best food in Mackay and great coffee. I would eat here every day if I could - but they're closed on Sunday! Try and come after 10:30am when they open up their lunch menu for even more delicious variety. 10/10.
Best breakfast in Mackay and wonderful service, such a hidden locally owned gem. Thank You! Savoured the delicious Smashed Yuzu Avo (with black sesame hummus, poached egg, pickled cherry tomatoes, gomasio, toasted rye bread & fermented chilli) WOW so many pops of flavour and a great sized serve. Well done chef and staff :).
