SHANGHAI VILLAGE REVIEWS
Visiting from Sydney and ran into this place. The food is awesome, prices are very reasonable and the service friendly. Prawn toast and BBQ pork buns a must!! Look forward to coming back there when im in Melbourne next!
We came across this place on a bustling Saturday night in Chinatown. Inside it was very full and with a buzzing atmosphere. There was fairly loud music playing. If you don’t like that then maybe come here not on the weekend. But it was a fun place to be on a Saturday night. Quality and quantity of food is very good. Made fresh to order and served hot. It is good for vegetarians and vegans. The Sichuan Peppercorn Chilli oil which is vegan is great with all the dishes. Dumplings are decent to good.
Delicious, authentic and freshly made dumplings as well as a range of other dishes. Really enjoyed our family meal here. Pan fried veggie dumplings and pork buns were the favourites.

HUTONG DUMPLING BAR REVIEWS
This place is popular for a reason, very good food. Probably the best xiao long bao and chili wanton I’ve had. The wrappers are a bit thick and chewy, big pieces and delicious fillings. Also had the pork ribs salt & pepper. Very tender meat and delicious.
Absolutely incredible dumplings! I didn't even know I could enjoy Dim Sum this much but the signature prawn dumplings may have changed my life. I would pass on the fried rice though. Staff was friendly and helpful as well. The building is small and you'll likely have to go up one or two flights of stairs for seating; make sure you arrive early or are ready for a wait.
A little gem down one of Melbourne's discovery lane ways. Great service, lots of lovely treats to share, quick and friendly service. Room for larger groups. We had lunch with a few drunks for under $50 each so its in the mid range for pricing .

Best Peaking Duck in Australia still stands. The service from the Staff was perfect! They knew what I needed and was so pleasant to deal with. Every dish looked amazing and was cooked perfectly. Definitely a lovely experience to dine and this restaurant that has been around for a long time.
Flower drum is truly an institution restaurant and is a gem that has stood the test of time, consistently delivering delicious and authentic Cantonese cuisine. Wow. Absolutely fantastic lunch at Flower Drum. The food and service were incredible. Obviously expensive but you don't go there expecting anything less and the whole experience justifies the cost. Portion sizes are generous so you leave feeling super content. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back.
