3 Best Thai Restaurants in Melbourne, VIC

Here for lunch a few times, and it’s quickly become my go-to spot for Thai food. Every dish I’ve tried has been full of flavour and consistently delicious. The portions are generous, prices are fair for the quality and location, and the service is friendly. Definitely a reliable spot that never disappoints!

Delicious food. Generous servings at reasonable prices. Really liked the variety of Thai food offered from numerous salads, seafood (including whole fish), stir-frys, bone broths, street noodles, desserts as well as a large variety of street/snack foods. You'll always find something tempting here.

Been here at least 10 times and the food is always good, great and quick service! Always our go to lunch place.

Oh. My. God. Beautiful, authentic Thai food and absolutely lovely staff. Well priced with some good Vegan options on the menu. I selected the Vegan Thai Red Curry, which is usually served with plant based chicken. Being vegan, the waitress offered to swap for tofu aaand it was divine! BangPop was recommended on a Melbourne Vegan page and thank god for that. Heavenly!

If you are from interstate, overseas or local, you must eat at BangPop if you love Thai food. If there are people waiting, don’t worry, you will be seated quickly. The food is authentic, fresh and delicious, combined with efficient and friendly service. Si many tables inside and out with the prime tables riverside - sitting at the bar is very cool. A great vibe with the music creating a fun vibe. BTW great margaritas.

I hosted my friends for my bday dinner here and was a great choice! The food and drinks were spot on, location was good too! We loved our time here. The service was quick and portion size was surprisingly good for a group.

Absolutely deserves all five of its stars handily. We had a delicious dinner here and we’re blown away with the tasting menu. We did the most simple tasting menu and that was the way to go because they really do give you the hits. Our server was kind enough to explain dishes and add, solicited commentary. Shimmy was one of our favorite things, but really everything was an experience itself. We sat on the patio with the heater on and it was perfect.

Vibes were amazing and it’s not super hard to get a table even if you’re walking in as a group of 2. We got a table immediately and service was really great. Food was definitely on the more fusion side which makes sense as they have to cater to Aussies’ taste bud, though it’s on the slightly pricier side for what you get. However it’s fair to say the portion is very generous.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Melb. Chef banquet $110pp is highly recommended. You can try the actual menu options and if you are still hungry you can order more and more of whatever you want with no charge! Food is fresh, flavorful and delicious. Few options are spicy but nothing crazy. The place is beautiful, nice atmosphere and music. Sometimes it gets crowded and noisy after 6pm. Toilets are super fun with Thai classes on the speakers . Staff is friendly and professional. Bookings are recommended. Groups of maximum 10 people together.
