THE CATHEDRAL OF ST STEPHEN
249 Elizabeth Street, Brisbane, QLD 4000 DIRECTIONS
Since 1989
Here’s The Deal:
The Cathedral of St Stephen was built with a design of a gothic revival architecture plan by Benjamin Backhouse. This church is one of the heritage-listed cathedral churches in Brisbane. It provides a wide variety of ways of connecting with the community. The Cathedral of St Stephen had its foundation laid in 1863, which after years of construction, faced the official opening for masses to the community people. The church features sandstone towers, imported stained glass windows, and the organ. The Cathedral of St. Stephen serves the city & the Archdiocese in equal measure. The visitors have reviewed that inside of the cathedral is vividly illuminated by the sun through the stained glass windows. Also, The church seeks to be a focal point in the city of Brisbane to witness the love of Christ and the Gospel. The Cathedral of St Stephen found the cool and refreshing visual that the interior and exterior space contrasts.
