“St. Patrick's Catholic Parish Gosford is part of the Broken Bay Diocese, which offers Mass and Prayer Services, Sacraments, Community and Ministry Groups, and Faith Formation. The Sisters of St. Joseph opened the church in 1910 to serve the Gosford community and surrounding areas. As the population grew, the church became surrounded by busy roads and railway lines. By 1965, Fr. Patrick McManus had decided to purchase land in East Gosford to build a new St. Patrick's Church to serve over 600 congregants. The construction funds for the new church were raised through the sale of the old church. In 1959, St. Patrick's School opened at East Gosford, founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph. After the final residents of St. Joseph left the convent, the St. Patrick's Catholic Parish Gosford convent was converted into living quarters for priests and office space. The church is now leased as commercial offices. St. Patrick's is blessed to have a thriving, cooperative parish where staff and volunteers work together to achieve the parish's mission under the leadership of the parish administrator.”
