ST PATRICK’S CHURCH HILL

20 Grosvenor Street, The Rocks, Sydney, NSW 2000 Directions

Since 1844

Here’s The Deal:
St Patrick’s Church Hill was established in the early 1840s to serve the very beginnings of Catholic lives in the community. Due to the fast-growing population in the city, the church's design does not fit, so an architect was hired to re-design the construction. After years of construction, the church was officially opened in 1844. St Patrick’s Church Hill provides easier access to university studies for Marist seminarians to have an academic and spiritual formation on young people. The church holds a strong history and convinces with evidence to support multiple traditions in the community. The church has been revered by generations of Sydney Catholics because of its traditional link to Fr Jeremiah O’Flynn during the earlier times.
