Amazing OBGYN! She held me through each birth and each pregnancy including emergency situations. Kind and gentle and caring. Trauma informed. Dr Gen is the best OB I interviewed and still 4 years later after our last baby is one of the top OBGYNs I’ve received care from. There’s a review on here I’d like to clear up. She left John Flynn Private hospital after a group of male doctors wouldn’t support her woman and baby centred approach to care. Furthermore, she left Grace Private as loosing her practice of many years at John Flynn Private Hospital was extremely difficult. Neither asked her to leave.

Dr Gen Bishop is the most caring, professional, fun and bubbly doctors I’ve ever met. I had the pleasure of being a patient of hers which she delivered my first baby in October 2020. With a difficult pregnancy, every appt she reassured me, comforted me and showed so much support. My husband and I would leave each time feeling so lucky we found her as our obstetrician. I could not recommend Gen and her wonderful team (Chrissy - midwife) and her beautiful receptionist staff enough.

I could not recommend Gen and her practice enough to any expecting mum! Starting my pregnancy journey with a few hiccups, I knew I was in the right hands as I was cared for with compassion from the get go. Throughout my 9 months it was so exciting knowing I had an appointment with Gen coming up. It was so nice being able to see my baby every time with the in room ultrasound and be greeted with the ultimate combo of lighthearted humour and informative banter each visit. Chrissie is also such a warm and knowledgeable midwife who made the experience a breeze! Although my birth was a long one, I felt confident and in good hands with Gen by my side helping me to make the calls as they arose and giving me the encouragement I needed. I would recommend Gen and her team a million times over! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for such an incredible birth and pregnancy experience! Vanessa and Baby Oscar x
