“Dr Omar Gailani is a gynaecologist and a laparoscopic and pelvic floor reconstructive surgeon at the Equinox Centre in Deakin. He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from Baghdad University. Dr Gailani has completed further qualifications, including the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) and a Diploma in Gynaecology from the University of Auckland in New Zealand. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and a member of the International Continence Society (ICS) and the International Urogynecology Association (IUGA). Additionally, he holds a certificate in urodynamics from the Bristol Urological Institute. Dr Gailani serves as Co-Director, alongside Dr Al-Sameraaii (a urologist), at the Canberra Urology and Gynaecological Centre. He also offers outpatient hysteroscopy services and iAluRil treatment, a therapy designed to restore the bladder's glycosaminoglycan (GAG) layer for patients suffering from painful bladder conditions and recurrent urinary tract infections. Dr Gailani is dedicated to providing minimally invasive surgical options for various gynaecological issues, including heavy periods, endometriosis pain, and fibroids.”
