Dr Ronak Patel is a consultant neurologist, founder and director of the ACT Neurology Centre. He graduated from the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, India. He completed his postgraduate (FRACP) training in neurology at John Hunter Hospital and The Canberra Hospital. Furthermore, he did a Stroke and Neurovascular fellowship at Calvary Public Hospital, where he was appointed Consultant Neurologist. Dr Patel is a member of various organizations, including the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN), the American Academy of Neurologists (AAN), and the European Academy of Neurology (EAN). He is a Fellow of the Australasian Stroke Academy and a member of the World Stroke Organization (WSO), the Stroke Society of Australasia (SSA), and the American Stroke Association (ASA). Additionally, Dr Patel is part of the Australia New Zealand Headache Society (ANZHS), where he treats all headache patients and offers a Botox service. Dr Patel is also passionate about teaching at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He serves as a Clinical Lecturer at the Australian National University. Dr Gawarikar has been involved in private practice at Calvary Private since 2012, specialising in areas such as stroke, Parkinson's disease and movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, peripheral neuropathy, muscle disorders, functional neurological disorders, dizziness and vestibular disorders, and dementia. He is a member of several professional organisations, including the Australia and New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN), the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), and the World Stroke Organization (WSO). Additionally, he is a member of the Australasian Stroke Trials Network (ASTN) and currently serves as the principal investigator at Calvary Hospital for various clinical trials.
