YOU YANGS REGIONAL PARK REVIEWS
Beautiful serene walking trail. We had an amazing weather and did the 1.5km walk. Not a steep climb. Easy walking for kids & adults alike. Plenty of free parking available. There is a parking ahead from the spot too which is where you can sit to eat. There are 2 entrances to this hill. We missed the first route and ended at the second. The first one is for walking and the second route is for biking. Thankfully one of the bikers guided us to the spot we missed. Ensure that you carry your own food as there are no eateries for quite a distance. Overall a beautiful trek with great views. Restrooms: Clean restrooms Dog-friendliness: Heaps of people bring their dogs here. Make sure they are on leash for the benefit of everyone. Picnic area: There is a picnic area to sit and eat.
There's a nice 5k trail here? Lovely views of the surrounding areas. Try visiting when it's sunny to see everything. My parents are pretty unfit but they managed to do the trail as well. There are public restrooms at the start of the trail as well. Bring some drinks and sandwiches because there's plenty of spots on the trail where you can sit. No camping allowed though. Dog-friendliness: You can bring your dogs but keep em chained
Views are 10/10 even from the carpark and it gets better as you approach the peak. Definitely fun to bring the dogs along to hike up too . Very well maintained and beautiful park. Restrooms: Restrooms are not clean but I’m actually glad that it’s there Dog-friendliness: It’s a great place to bring your dog.

:Balyang Sanctuary is 20 acres in size and consists of open parkland, lakes and wetlands. Its preservation as open space dates back to 1959, governed by the Geelong Planning Scheme, with the local City of Newtown responsible for its acquisition. Negotiations for the park's establishment commenced in 1965. The sanctuary offers 150 parking spaces, public restroom facilities, and picnic tables. At its heart lie three islands, accessible to the public via four footbridges, enhancing its allure. Two stormwater drains at its northern end replenish the lake and pump water from the Barwon River. A network of riverside trails for walking and cycling interconnects Balyang Sanctuary with neighbouring parks along the Barwon River, providing canoeing, strolls, and jogging opportunities. It is also an ideal starting point for embarking on a scenic walk along the Barwon River.

BALYANG SANCTUARY REVIEWS
The perfect spot for a picnic which is exactly what we did on this beautiful sunny spring day. There is so many different types of birdlife here you can see as you soak in the views of Balyang Sanctuary. You also have the barwon river on the other side of the road where people can walk, ride around or even canoe in the river with the convenient Canoe crossing. There are also historic buildings as well as undercover picnic tables and restrooms facilities. A great place to take the family. Restrooms: Clean restroom facilities on site Dog-friendliness: On lead dog friendly park Picnic area: So many great spots here to have a picnic.
One of my favourite places to walk around, explore, have a picnic,..or just escape from everything for a while. Always neat, clean, and the birds which live there are amazing. There's always Pelicans or ducks to see, and the serenity of the Barwon River tops it all. You have to visit here at least once.
Came here for play group and it’s stunning!! My two babies absolutely loved the nature walk and ducks/birds. The trees are so incredibly special, old and beautiful. There is also an amazing cafe not far. Definitely a favourite spot now.
