GEELONG GALLERY REVIEWS
What an amazing place to spend a day! Apart from the amazing art on display, the gallery is surrounded by nice parks and great streets to roam around. Nearby, there's also a small building (it's easy to miss). It says that the building was the first telephone exchange in the southern hemisphere! That's something! Great place for everyone. Doesn't matter if you are an art lover or not! If you're taking the train, it's just a five minute walk from the station. Was here for the combo 100 years of Archibald & McCubbin late Nov 21. My first visit - gallery is well spaced out with a great layout. Staff are helpful & Covid compliant with vaccine Cert & mask required. Timed entry but once in - you can stay as long as you wish. 100 years of Archie's was a fab wrap-up of a centenary - at the inception until now. Great stories behind every exhibit.
McCubbin's is a limited showcase of his works but has some of his famous artworks like The Pioneers & Bush Idyll. I just wish there were current day references to where the locations are in Blackburn & Box Hill that he has depicted in some of his paintings! It would be a great way to visualise how the landscape has evolved since the late 1800s in suburban Melb. Painters & illustrators were the only historical pictorial recorders back then. Both require a bit of time but up to you. We had a nice lunch break nearby & returned to see McCubbin. Otherwise- it is a bit much too squeeze in.
Amazing experience. Visited Rone in Geelong. Great venue and fantastic exhibition of one of the best artists. It was also great to meet the artist himself. Very friendly and extremely helpful staff at the gallery. Thank you! Highly recommend.

SERENDIP SANCTUARY REVIEWS
Parks Victoria have done an amazing job in maintaining a habitat for the animals that call Serendip Sanctuary home. It is very large and there is much to see, especially if you enjoy observing or photographing bird life. There are large open areas of water and land where birds are free to come and go as they please, with Magpie Geese and Cape Barren Geese flying around and offering outstanding photo opportunities. Highly recommended....
My favourite place to sit and unwind. Perfect for children/strollers and wheelchairs. Clean toilets and picnic area. Please remember to take your rubbish away with you! I am a regular visitor. Photos are courtesy of my husband Marcelo @mypicofview.
I have visited the place many times. Good for a walk and weekend picnic. Plenty of wild animals to see. Love it!

NATIONAL WOOL MUSEUM REVIEWS
Must visit! Apparently Geelong was one of the top producers of wool, this museum showcased the process of making the wool and history of Geelong wool. There is also a dedicated floor showcasing the best photography across the whole world. Particularly loved the image. The entry is only $8 for adults and takes about an hour to see the whole museum’s. There’s also a cute little shop where you can the purchase some souvenirs too.
Great place. Exhibits well displayed and explained. The machines especially the huge carpet maker were amazing. Would have liked to see it in operation. This is absolutely a must visit in Geelong. Shop had many quality item with a 30% discount for mother’s day. You didn’t need to be a mother to qualify. Just having a mother was enough.
A fun few hours of activities in here. There are interactive art exhibits for kids to play with on the top level for a limited time. The place itself is quite educational for those who wish to learn more about the history of wool industry in Victoria and its relationship with indigenous Australians. Takes around 1 to 1.5 hours in there.
