Here’s The Deal:
The Big Golden Guitar stands as a major attraction in Australia. On 25 January 1988, the iconic Slim Dusty and Mr Paul Crombie, General Manager of Tourism NSW, officially unveiled this landmark. A 12-meter-tall replica of the prestigious Golden Guitar Awards presented at the Country Music Awards of Australia, it weighs half a tonne. It has earned recognition as an Australian icon and a highly distinguished landmark in the region. Crafted from fibreglass and wood with steel reinforcement, this colossal golden guitar, despite lacking strings, remains a massive outdoor sculpture. Adjacent to it stands a country music and gift shop, complemented by an attached coffee cafe.
