“The Big Golden Guitar was officially opened by the legendary Slim Dusty. They have a replica of the famous Golden Guitar Award and a symbol of the world-renowned annual Tamworth Country Music Festival. A must-see attraction during your visit to Tamworth is the Golden Guitar, which is accessible 24 hours a day and is lit at night for the obligatory photograph. Standing 12 meters tall and weighing half a ton, this Australian icon is one of the region’s most recognized attractions. The Big Golden Guitar was constructed using fibreglass and wood, with steel reinforcement, although it has no strings. “Tamworth War Memorial Town Hall was designed as a memorial to commemorate the soldiers and war workers from Tamworth and the surrounding district who served in World War I. Tamworth War Memorial Town Hall is located in the heart of the CBD and features a large proscenium stage, three dressing rooms, and a unique gallery level. The Town Hall is fully air-conditioned and equipped with in-house kitchen facilities, making it a versatile venue for various events, including conferences, concerts, career expos, antique shows, and weddings.

The information centre at the Golden Guitar was fantastic. The lady gave us a very detailed list of things to do and see in the area. The Wax Museum is out the back and worth visiting.

The Big Golden Guitar is a landmark of Australia’s Country Music Capital. you can still go visit, see and have photos on the actual big guitar even if the Information Centre beside it is close.

As someone who plays and makes guitars, I loved it. We spent much longer there than I expected. If you love music and guitars, don't miss it.

What a gem. A fabulous look into the evolution of country music in Australia. A great selection of memorabilia… and stories throughout the decades …. An absolute treat that had you wanting to head home to put on your LP’s and scoot around the dance /lounge room floor!! Would also add the staff member was full of knowledge of the place and also in the area. 5 stars to her. We had a great time.

Highly recommend a visit, lots of memorabilia and loads of history telling in each display area, thank you to the lovely friendly lady on the front desk you made our visit very enjoyable.

Definitely worth visiting. Plenty of interesting stories and exhibits from the origins of Australian Country Music.

A beautiful old building, great acoustics, could see the stage well from any seat. A really good venue. Fabulous dance floor, beautiful historic architecture, clean amenities.

Loved it. What a treasure Tamworth. Congratulations to the most amazing Country Music Festival. Brilliant organization.
