3 Best Places To Visit in Tamworth NSW

I now regret previously riding past this gem of a motorcycle museum. I decided to visit this time, on my way from Sydney to Brisbane. This private collection of motorcycles, although most but not all fully restored, is immaculate. You can see the love and enthusiasm in the condition of each and every bike. From an electric Harley to 1950s BSA Gold Stars, Nortons, Triumphs, Ducatis as well as some one off custom builds. They even have an early model Royal Enfield Bullit 500. There is also a good selection of Japanese machines. Don’t forget the merch shop for all those unusual accessories, t-shirts, badges, pins, etc. On my visit, Gavin was an absolute wealth of knowledge on all the bikes on display. Don’t drive past this time!

It's a small museum but it has some excellent bikes on display. Craig was on hand to talk us through what was on display and prepared to answer any questions we had. Really knowledgeable on motorcycle history and extra detail on the exhibits. A really worthwhile experience if you are a motorcycle fan. Will definitely visit again the next time I am in town.

Without a doubt, the best collection of 50/70s bikes and a few other oddities I've seen. Thanks, Craig, for your informal but very informative conversation. You sure know your bikes. What an amazing collection, possibly hours of pleasure for only a $6 entry fee. Do yourselves a favour and get in and have a look around, buy a tshirt of your favourite bike check out the mini ducats and the Harley Davidson postie bike with side car from the 1920s you won't regret it.

Fantastic museum containing so much history. Lionel gave me a personal tour. I loved the interactive room where you could play with things like a static electricity maker and jacobs ladder. Lionel was very informative. A great way to spend my lunch break from work. Thanks again!

This is a must if you are visiting Tamworth. Kevin, one of the volunteers there, was great. He and his colleagues showed us around and explained about how Tamworth was the first city in Australia to have street lights. Highly recommended. And thanks Kevin and the guys for a great tour.

Visited the museum and received a personal guided tour by one of the volunteers. The museum houses many artifacts from early Australian life with the introduction of electricity. It als has two of the earliest steam generators which were used to power Tamworth. Well worth time spent visiting this museum.

I am seriously impressed at how lovely this fledgling facility is - with such a vicious and extended period of drought in the region just keeping things alive would be such a challenge. Our picnic in the grounds was so relaxing and then we headed off on a stroll with kids in tow. The kids really enjoyed wandering around the dam and spotting fish in the ponds in the higher sections of the garden. I wish we'd had more time to explore the indigenous plants area as it looked really interesting. Well done, I look forward to coming back in a few years to see how things have changed.

A beautifully done park with many great features. Free to visit and be close to nature. Lots of ponds; the sound of running water is so peaceful. Lots of interesting plants, some with plaques to tell you information on them. Many tables and benches to use, can even have small meetings up here. Lots of wild animals to enjoy. Large area to walk around. Large carpark.

Beautiful place I would recommend it as a place to definitely see beautiful when I was three however there has been many fires around there and also no rainfall so hope it's still the same.
