“Dr Eric Guazzo obtained his medical degree from the University of Queensland and completed his fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1991. He also finished his Fellowship in Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He is a registered specialist neurosurgeon with the National Medical Board of Australia. He is recognised for his expertise in comprehensive neurosurgical and spinal surgeries for both adults and children in the North Queensland region. Dr Guazzo is the Director of the Department of Neurosurgery for North Queensland. He has a strong interest in continuing education and training within the neurosurgical field, having acted as an Examiner for the Fellowship in Neurosurgery from 2010 to 2018. He was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the 2013 Queen's Birthday Honours. He was also the recipient of the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia Medal in 2021 for his extraordinary contributions to the society and his work in providing neurosurgical services to North Queensland communities. Dr Eric Guazzo specialises in general neurosurgery, spinal neurosurgery, and paediatric neurosurgery. He has particular expertise in managing pituitary tumours, other brain tumours, and spinal surgeries. Dr Guazzo practices at North Queensland Neurosurgery & Spinal Surgery.
