Dr A/Prof Kaushik Hazratwala is the Director of the Orthopaedic Research Institute of Queensland. He has spent the last 15 years in Townsville. He is trained to perform most replacement and reconstructive surgeries of the lower limb. Dr A/Prof Kaushik Hazratwala has developed his own alternative alignment knee replacement surgical technique. He formed the Queensland Lower Limb Clinic as a specialist centre for Orthopaedic Surgery, offering super-specialised orthopaedic services for conditions of the lower limb. He was awarded the position of Clinical Associate Professor at James Cook University, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, in recognition of his research, training, and funding activities. Dr Jason McDarra completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland and has over 21 years of surgical experience. He specialises in orthopaedic surgery, from the tips of the fingers to the ends of the toes. Dr Jason achieved a fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and the Australian Orthopaedic Association. He has performed over 1,500 hand and wrist surgical procedures, over 750 shoulder surgeries, more than 1,000 hip surgical procedures, over 1,500 knee surgeries, and 2,000 foot and ankle surgeries.
