DON RIVER RAILWAY REVIEWS
Fun and educational for adults and kids. Heaos of old trains waiting for restoration and a few restored to mint condition. I hope the coffee is work next time we come! Well worth an hour or two for a visit!
Lovely visit to the Don river railway. We went on the 10am train journey. Great for big and little kids. The train yards and displays were fantastic and loved the royal carriage restoration.
Fantastic spot to visit. So much history lovingly preserved by dedicated volunteers and staff.

Bass Strait Maritime Centre in Devonport is in parkland at the Mersey River's mouth. The museum comprises permanent and temporary exhibition areas focusing on various aspects. These encompass the early exploration of Bass Strait and the northern Tasmanian coast, numerous shipwrecks in the strait, and Devonport's significant historical role as a crucial sea link to the Australian mainland. Within the museum, the Navy room pays tribute to four heroic RAN sailors and highlights the local impact of World War II. Building upon the former Devonport Maritime Museum's objects, models, and photographs, it provides comprehensive context to the collection.

BASS STRAIT MARITIME CENTRE REVIEWS
Very friendly staff. Highly informative contents and displays, ranging across local maritime/other history, marine ecology and oceanography. The ship's bridge simulator was awesome (and I speak as a sailplane pilot)! Photos are of Devonport and the ferry, not the Maritime Centre.
We visited on a Sunday afternoon and appeared to be the only people looking through the many interesting displays. The sailing simulator was great fun, being at the helm was a new experience. Adjoining cafe was very busy with lots of customers.
Was the bus driver of a school group visiting the centre and it was wonderful. The kids loved it and I felt the place was interesting and the staff were amazing!!

HOME HILL REVIEWS
We loved our tour, the 2 guides where fantastic and knowledgeable. Beautiful house and was fantastic to see the contents has been retained including Dame Enid dresses. A very remarkable women to carry on after loosing her famous husband. We even went and paid our respect at their grave after the tour.
A very interesting and engaging tour about the house and life of Joseph and Enid Lyons. The 1916 built house is well preserved and the many stories painted a vibrant picture of the 10th Prime Minister of Australia and his amazing wife.
What a fascinating tour. Derek was awesome, informative, and really brought the history to life. We learnt heaps and highly recommend this tour. And it's cheap as chips!!
