“Queen Victoria Museum & Art Gallery collection has been in the making since 1842 and includes significant acquisitions and donations worldwide. The museum is the cultural pivot of Launceston and the major destination for art, history and natural sciences in Northern Tasmania. History, Natural Sciences, Visual Arts, and Design are their key collection areas, which are cared for and exhibited by the community of Northern Tasmania. Queen Victoria Museum & Art Gallery is continually working with the community and peers to build and better understand this extensive and diverse collection and undertaking new research into existing and new groups and research areas. A scenic 15-20 minute flat walk along the Tamar and North Esk rivers connects the Museum and Art Gallery.”
